It seems like Amanda Mannan has been a scientist from birth, with associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry from the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago and the University of the West Indies respectively, Amanda has always been drawn to the field of medicine and particularly, improvement of patient care.

She’s had extensive experience both as a lab assistant and as an office manager and prides herself on always putting the patient first.  Even when she’s not in the lab, Amanda is giving back; she volunteers with Meals on Wheels Programme and Nature Seekers.  She’s excited to be a part of the GPS Team.

Salma Mohammed’s interests first began in the field of environmental science, having received her degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Management with minors in Marine Biology and Zoology.  Right after her degree however she found herself as a laboratory technician in the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago.

Salma saw the importance of laboratory diagnostics, from the bench to the office management and saw a future career where she could really impact patient care.  Mrs. Mohammed worked with two major pathology laboratories and has learned so much already from her time at GPS.

Shana Persad-Ramdeensingh is a proud alum of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program at College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago, having graduated Cum Laude in 2015.  She didn’t stop there however and pursued a post graduate diploma in Biotechnology at the University of the West Indies.

She has extensive experience in both anatomic and clinical pathology laboratory techniques, particularly after working as a senior technician at one of the largest labs in the country.  She is well versed in laboratory accreditation and will be leading GPS on that front.  Like her colleagues, she is committed to diagnostics improvement in the country and is excited for the future of the lab.
