More early (T1) carcinomas are being diagnosed in polyps given the rigorous adherence to colon cancer screening guidelines.  With that comes a quandary for the treating physician: is local excision sufficient or should lymph nodes be sampled?  There are several pathologic features that should be included in the pathology report for any malignant polyp.  We list them below with an accompanied schematic.
