In this section, we summarize a comprehensive paper from the journal The Lancet that reviewed the histologic changes in patients with COVID-19. 

It goes without saying that a PCR-based test is far more indicative of COVID-19 infection than histology but the findings of chronic-type lung damage in patients without symptoms or patients 2 days after symptom-onset is of some curiosity for those of you who are interested.
